Tempered CrSi Surface Condition Options

Our chrome silicon wire is available in three standard finishes: Bright, Scaleless (Tinted/Straw) and Black Oxide. The bright finish offers a clean surface for plating or painting. The Scaleless (Tinted/Straw) and black oxide finishes provide increasing levels of corrosion resistance for unprotected environments.

ASTM A1000: This specification addresses specialty spring quality wire, enforcing tighter controls on surface quality, decarburization, and non-metallic inclusions. Our experienced in-house technicians perform oil tempering, patenting, and annealing at our Pennsylvania facility. This gives us direct control over dimensional consistency and material properties. Few wire manufacturers offer this complete range of heat-treatment operations under one roof.

We provide Annealed at Finish, Annealed in Process, and spheroidized annealing for chrome silicon and high-carbon wire applications. These processes allow us to engineer wire to specific hardness, tensile strength, and formability requirements.
